Biography

Judge Timothy G. Stueve serves as a Coast Guard Administrative Law Judge in Alameda, California. The Secretary of Homeland Security appointed him to the Coast Guard ALJ bench in 2020. He hears merchant mariner credential suspension and revocation cases and other administrative matters assigned through the Department of Homeland Security or the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Before his Coast Guard ALJ appointment, Judge Stueve served for twelve years as a Social Security Administration ALJ, including as Hearing Office Chief ALJ and SSA National Cadre Lead for ALJ training. His Coast Guard legal career also included service as a courts-martial military judge and in multiple legal and operational assignments.
