Biography
Judge Brian J. Curley serves as the Coast Guard Acting Chief Administrative Law Judge and is based in New Orleans. The Secretary of Homeland Security appointed him as a United States Coast Guard Administrative Law Judge in 2018. His docket includes merchant mariner credential suspension and revocation cases, along with other Department of Homeland Security and federally assigned administrative matters. Before joining the Coast Guard ALJ program, Judge Curley served as a Social Security Administration ALJ, practiced litigation in private practice, worked as a government attorney and senior attorney advisor, served in the United States Marine Corps, and spent 15 years with Delta Air Lines.
