Biography

Judge Walter J. Brudzinski served as a Coast Guard Administrative Law Judge beginning in 2003 and was appointed Chief Administrative Law Judge in 2013. Coast Guard biographical materials describe his work hearing merchant mariner credential suspension and revocation cases, as well as other Department of Homeland Security and supported-agency matters. Before joining the Coast Guard ALJ program, he was appointed as a Social Security Administration ALJ in 1996, served as a prosecutor in Virginia Beach, and served in the Coast Guard as a commissioned officer and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney.
